Disaster Capitalism

This 11th day of September, on the most beautiful Manhattan morning imaginable, something truly catastrophic happened when a group of Saudis used two planes to rip through large sections of first building 2, and then building 1 of the World Trade Center. OK, everybody knows that now, unless you didn't know it was Saudis, NOT Iraq carrying out this wildly successful plan.

In the immediate aftermath, ALL OVER the WORLD there were HUGE demonstrations of grief, and support for the United States. Our friends, our enemies- The streets of, Syria, Moscow, Paris, and YES Tehran were flooded with people just like us, shocked and angry at the cold brutality they witnessed. I remember thinking, WOW, this is a once in a lifetime event. The U.S. had tremendous POSITIVE political (emotional) capital, and in the right hands this event, as deeply horrendous as it was, might help pave the road to a more peaceful, or at least stable, World.

In the right hands.
